Sales Director – Americas

Reports to:

Global Sales & Marketing Director

Direct Reports:

The Sales Director is responsible for managing the sales team & associated personnel

Purpose:

The Sales Director is a key member of the sales leadership team, covering sales management and direct sales for the Americas territory. You will have accountability for:

  1. Driving significant order, revenue & margin growth for Americas region
  2. Management of Americas sales team, setting high standards and expectations
  3. Appointing and managing selected agents/intermediaries
  4. Account development and management
  5. Representation at conferences, trade fairs and networking events

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Meet or exceed sales and margin growth targets
  2. Create a solution focussed selling culture across the sales team to provide the best solutions for customers
  3. Develop and manage your portfolio of customers, with particular focus on the production sector
  4. Build and maintain close working relationships with key customers, become VoC champion
  5. Identify new opportunities and franchise successful solutions in both production and R&D sectors
  6. Lead and manage major bids and win at best price and terms, supported by other members of the sales & applications teams as appropriate
  7. Support marketing in their content creation, delivery and lead generation and management responsibilities
  8. Maintain professional awareness of competitor activity

Person Specification:

Education/Qualifications:

  • Degree level qualification in relevant scientific discipline, with sales/marketing specialisation

Professional Skills/Abilities:

  • Management Experience
  • Experience of working in high technology semiconductor industry, rapidly changing business environment; familiar with product and process applications
  • Knowledge in sales and account management. Understands high tech/capital equipment industry, semiconductor or related, but at least a broad understanding of the technologies associated with semiconductors.
