Shimadzu (Kyoto, Japan) have today published their Annual Report for the financial year ending March 31st 2015.
Shimadzu Corporation began manufacturing and selling instruments for the determination of physical and chemical properties of materials back in 1875. This year they celebrate their 140th anniversary since their foundation.
Overall, Group sales are up in the year to JPY314.7 billion, an increase of 2.3% on the previous year. Net income meanwhile is JPY18.4 billion, an increase of 89.7% on the previous year.
The Group serves several industrial segments, the largest of which is Analytical & Measuring Instruments which this year accounted for 61% of Group revenues. This segment, which includes Kratos (Manchester, UK) reported a 5.7% increase in revenues to JPY192.6 billion.
