Waters Corp. has broken ground at what will become their new HQ for Mass Spectrometry 3 miles South of Manchester Airport. The new facility will be purpose built and is designed to accelerate innovation while combining a world class customer demonstration facility with advanced R&D laboratories. The new building is expected to be complete in 2014.
Waters currently has 4 separate sites in the South Manchester area employing around 500 people, almost 10% of the global workforce. The new building is intended to unite these sites bringing everyone together under the one roof and adding an expanded manufacturing capacity.
With a turnover of $1.85 billion in 2011, the company provides a portfolio of products for laboratory dependent organisations spanning separations science, laboratory information management, mass spectrometry and thermal analysis.
