Seeking Technical Salesperson – Analytical Instruments – UK
Our client is perhaps one of the most established brands in the laboratory instrumentation market. With a global footprint, they are well known and respected for quality and reliability while putting the customer at front and centre of everything they do.
Business is growing and in the UK we need to add another Technical Salesperson to sell a range of instrumentation into laboratories both in academia and industry. The role can be based out of a home office and your territory will be configured around you and the existing team members. You could be located anywhere in the UK, but as you might expect, the ‘extremities’ will be less favourable.
This role will suit an ambitious individual that likes to ‘move the needle.’ Success in this role is likely to lead to real career progression.
The client is taking a flexible approach to recruitment and they are keen to consider candidates from two distinct areas, either a) experienced salespeople looking for a change and/or career progression or b) people looking for their first sales position.
Experienced Salespeople
You’ll be selling complex, capital laboratory equipment into laboratories in academia and industry in the UK. You’ll be results oriented and fully conversant with a solution selling approach. It’s likely you’ll have a degree in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or similar and you’ll be comfortable having technical discussions with your customers about the technology you are selling. Being able to offer some applications support would be seen as an advantage. Experience in areas such as polymer science, ceramics and/or the pharma market would be of great interest.
New to Sales
You may be in a sales support position or customer service and thinking about your first direct sales role. Perhaps a Field Applications Scientist or Service Engineer or Product Specialist, any of these will be considered a good grounding for this sales position. You’ll need the degree mentioned above and excellent customer facing skills plus experience of laboratory instrumentation used to characterise materials such as polymers or pharmaceuticals.
This is a golden opportunity with very attractive prospects. The client also has considerable flexibility around the starting package which will consist of a good base with commission and a company car plus other benefits.
